Elizabeth Howell Brunner:
Recovering the Family Tree
During the summer of 1997, I began an active search to find my birth father. My natural parents divorced when I was four, and my mother died of cancer when I was seven. Soon after, my sister and I were adopted by relatives in California After twenty-seven years of separation, I finally found William Jerry Howell in Massachusetts. The reunion has been wonderful.
The next stage of my search involves tracking the Howell family tree backwards from Arcadia, Louisiana. The notes posted here trace back five generations to Casper Neal Howell (1816-1889) and Elizabeth Ann Scott (1820-1858), and then track clues leading to William Howell, born in Wales in about 1585. The line leads through Virginia, the Carolinas, and Georgia. I am also following the surnames Gardner, Jowers, Causey, Cox, Dupree, Pringle, and Wagnon.
Please email me at ebrunner@calpoly.edu if our family trees connect. If any distant cousins need help creating their own web site, would like to exchange links, or will let me post their information & photos on this site -- I would be happy to oblige!
